Description

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is an aircraft designed in the mid 70’s by the General Dynamics company (In 1993 General Dynamics was acquired by Lockheed), at first it was intended as a light fighter aircraft range, could be embarked on an aircraft carrier or have an operational base on land but over the time in which this fighter has been operational (still continues today) has undergone multiple transformations that have made it a multipurpose aircraft of IV generation (that is the case of the model that concerns us reproduced by Tamiya at 1/72 scale).
The F-16CJ Block 50 is a single-seat, General Electric F110-GE-129-powered fighter that reaches maximum operating speeds of close to 2,500 km/h (1,500 mph). Its basic main weapon is a Vulcan M61A1 6-barrel 20 mm rotary gun. It can also mount different types of bombs: standard, laser-guided, cluster, nuclear warhead…
The Model F16CJ was designed for suppression missions of enemy air forces and can use different anti-radar weapons. The first of this type was delivered in May 1993 and is still in operation today.
