The F-35 Lightning II is an all-purpose or multipurpose aircraft developed by the U.S. company Lockheed as a fifth-generation aircraft.

The F-35B is a variant of this aircraft created for use by the Marines, it has vertical climb and landing capability and is intended to replace the F18 Hornet and the Harrier of the British Royal Navy.
