Dual combo: Spitfire Mk II (Limited edition: Tally Ho, History of the Spitfire) 1/48 Eduard-11146

49.90

The Spitfire Mk II was one of the first variants of the iconic British Supermarine Spitfire fighter used during World War II. Introduced in 1940, this improved version was designed to meet the challenges of the Battle of Britain, providing the Royal Air Force (RAF) with a more efficient and rugged aircraft. The Mk II was equipped with the Rolls-Royce Merlin XII engine, which generated 1,175 horsepower, allowing it to reach a top speed of 570 km/h (370 mph). It was armed with eight Browning .303 machine guns or, in some versions, with two 20 mm Hispano cannons and four machine guns. Production was carried out at the Castle Bromwich factory, which allowed for faster delivery of units. Although soon replaced by more advanced versions, the Spitfire Mk II played a crucial role in the early years of the conflict, cementing the Spitfire’s reputation as a legendary fighter.
