Description
HMS Vampire was a V-class destroyer that belonged first to the British Royal Navy and then, by the 1930s, to the Australian Navy.
During World War II, she was first deployed in the Mediterranean where she escorted supply convoys between Malta and Marseille and then fought in the Pacific with the so-called Z-force (composed of the Prince of Wales, the Repulse, the Vampire, the Electra and the Tenedos).
The Vampire participated in the battles of Calabria (1940), Libya (1941), Greece (1941) and Crete (1941).
