Desertic truck model 42 “Sahariana”. 1/72 Italeri-97044

The Camionetta Desertica model 42 “Sahariana” was designed for the Italian Regio Esercito, using the chassis and mechanics of the AB 41 armored vehicle. Its development responded to the need for a reconnaissance vehicle adapted to the conditions of the African desert, where mobility on sand was essential. Its low silhouette and large wheels offered stability and discretion. Thanks to its good autonomy, it could perform long-range missions. The armament varied according to the model and included the Breda 20/65 machine gun, the 47/32 anti-tank gun or the Solothurn 20 mm anti-tank gun, being very effective in fast raids.
