The Mercedes-Benz 320 (W142), developed by Daimler-Benz AG, made its debut in 1937. It had a six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 3.2 liters (3.4 liters in later versions), producing 78 horsepower. It was available with a short (2880 mm) or long (3300 mm) wheelbase. The Mercedes-Benz 320 (W142) held the top position among the three middle-class models with six-cylinder engines. One of the body styles for long wheelbase vehicles was the Cabriolet. Several versions of this variant of the Mercedes-Benz 320 were also offered, varying in the number of seats, doors and side windows. The four-seater Cabriolet B version had two doors and four side windows. This car was used by the Wehrmacht as a staff car and also for the transport of high commanders.
