Description

The Magach were a series of tanks developed by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), which were based on modifications of the American M48 Patton and M60 A1.

During the Yom Kippur War, Israel suffered heavy losses in its armored units, this situation led to the decision to modify some of the M48 and M60 that formed its tank forces, the result was the Magach series, which incorporated improvements in fire control systems, larger caliber guns and above all, the incorporation of “ERA” (Explosive Reactive Armor).

The Magachs were active until the 80s and 90s of the last century.
