The Ford V8 G81A was an automobile manufactured in the German city of Cologne in 1937 under Ford patent. This model incorporated an 8-cylinder engine improved over previous versions, in addition to other improvements related to its chassis.
With Adolf Hitler’s rise to power and the push for rearmament policy, many of these Ford cars began to be assigned to the Luftwaffe for personnel transport and, to a much lesser extent, as communications vehicles (where the cab space was reconfigured to incorporate radio equipment).
