The Bofors was an anti-aircraft gun used by the Allies during World War II. It was designed by the Swedish manufacturer AB Bofors, it was a 40 mm automatic cannon that became very popular and reliable, so much so that a version of it continues to be used today. The Bofors gun fired up to 120 2-pound explosive shells per minute and could hit targets at an altitude of 12,500 feet (3,800 m).
