The Armed Forces of Ukraine operate a wide variety of trucks for multiple purposes, including transportation of personnel, ammunition, military cargo and towing artillery pieces.
The vehicle fleet includes both modern models of Ukrainian and Western production and vehicles inherited from the Soviet era.
Prominent among the latter is the ZiL-131, an all-wheel-drive truck whose production began in the late 1960s.
In 1986, an improved version, the ZiL-131N, was introduced, known for its high reliability and excellent off-road capability.
Some of these trucks are equipped with van bodies, called KUNG (zero-dimensional (normal) standardized body), which allow for greater versatility in their use.
In addition to the trucks, various trailers with van bodies designed for different functions, such as personnel accommodation, laboratories, repair shops, field kitchens, electronic systems or medical units, are used.
These trailers are equipped with lighting systems, power supply and heating devices, ensuring their operability in various conditions and scenarios.
This combination of modern and legacy vehicles enables the Ukrainian Armed Forces to maintain a robust logistics capability adaptable to battlefield needs.
