The AR-2 fire truck was designed for mechanized laying of water hoses from the fire scene.
Production of this vehicle began in 1989, based on the KAMAZ-43105 all-terrain truck, which had proven itself in various situations.
The chassis of this truck is 100% metal. Inside, the body is divided into a front space, designed to house the firefighting equipment, and a rear space, which contains the fire hoses. This truck is manned by 3 men: a driver and two operators, the latter two are in charge of assembling the fire hose and its deployment (which can reach up to 2.5 km).
Some of these vehicles are still in use in fire stations today.
