The Sd.Kfz. 234/2known as “Puma,” was an armored reconnaissance vehicle used by the German Wehrmacht during World War II. Part of the vehicle series Sd.Kfz. 234, the Puma stood out for its versatility and advanced design.
Developed in the early 1940s, the Puma was equipped with a 50 mm KwK 39 cannon and an MG 42 machine gun, providing significant firepower for a vehicle of its type. Its Tatra V12 diesel engine enabled it to reach speeds of up to 90 km/h on the road and 50 km/h in difficult terrain, giving it great mobility.
The design of the Sd.Kfz. 234/2 included an eight-wheel all-wheel drive configuration, which improved its maneuverability and stability. Used mainly on the Eastern and Western Fronts, the Puma was appreciated for its ability to perform reconnaissance missions and its combat capability in adverse conditions.
