Battleship Borodino was the flagship of 5 battleships of its class Borodino, commissioned by the Tsarist Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. It was destined to be the backbone of the Pacific Ocean Fleet. However, in the battle of Tsushima, which took place in May 1905, against the Imperial Japanese Fleet, the Borodino sank after being hit by a Japanese 305 mm shell, which hit the bow turret causing the explosion of ammunition and the death of its 866 crew members (only one of them escaped with his life).
