Description

The Gneisenau was a German battleship of World War II. Together with the other battleship of her class (the Scharnhorst), the Gneisenau participated in the invasion of Norway and in the battle with the British battle cruisers HMS Renown and the aircraft carrier HMS Glorious.

The Gneisenau was sunk in 1945 to blockade the German port of Gotenhafen.
