The StuG III Ausf G was the most produced version of the Sturmgeschütz III series, a German assault gun widely used during World War II.
Introduced in December 1942, the Ausf G was designed to support infantry and later became an efficient tank destroyer.
Mounted on the Panzer III chassis, the StuG III Ausf G was equipped with a 75 mm KwK 40 L/48 gun, capable of destroying most enemy tanks of the time.
This model featured several improvements over previous versions, such as a modified upper hull, additional armor, and the introduction of a gun mantlet known as a “Saukopf” (pig’s head), which improved protection against anti-tank fire.
The StuG III Ausf G excelled on the Eastern Front and in other theaters of operations, proving to be a highly effective and versatile war machine.
With more than 8,000 units produced, it was one of the most important armored vehicles in the German arsenal.
