Description

The FlakPanzer IV Ausf G ‘Wirbelwind’ was an anti-aircraft vehicle used by German forces during World War II. Built on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank, it was equipped with a quadruple 20 mm gun, which gave it a powerful anti-aircraft capability. Its rotary design allowed rapid target acquisition and a high rate of fire, making it effective against enemy aircraft as well as light ground targets.

The ‘Wirbelwind’ proved to be a valuable addition to the German anti-aircraft defense, especially on the eastern front where it faced constant Allied air attacks. Although its production was limited, its presence on the battlefield provided valuable support to the German ground forces in their fight against Allied air superiority.
