The Junyo was an aircraft carrier of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. The most curious feature of this aircraft carrier was that its origin was in the conversion of two civilian ocean liners of the Japanese shipping company, this generated some defensive deficiencies that made it more vulnerable than other carriers of the same era.
The Junyo fought in several of the battles that took place in the Pacific: Operation Divert Forces at Midway, Guadalcanal, Santa Cruz Islands… Her final fate was to be scrapped in 1947.
