The Fairchild Republic A-10A Thunderbolt II, nicknamed the “Warthog,” was a fierce warrior on the battlefield. Armed with a 30 mm GAU-8 Avenger cannon capable of destroying tanks, its robust design and armor made it a formidable enemy. It was equipped with two turbofan engines, which allowed it to reach maximum operating speeds of 700 km/h (700 mph). Its main mission was close support, protecting ground troops or making counter-tank raids. The Thunderbolt II was operational during the Gulf War.
