Description
The BMD-1 is an armored vehicle, intended to support airborne forces, developed by the Soviets after the Cuban missile crisis, where Soviet military statesmen understood the difficulty of equipping their airborne units in case this was necessary.
The BMD-1 was fitted with a 73mm cannon and a 9K11 Malyutka anti-tank missile.
